Independence Day Speech-The first Prime Minister of independent India was a man, who could influence the masses with his oration. He was an immensely learned man and could feel the pulse of the masses. Nehru's Message to the Nation on the Independence Day was delivered on the brink of midnight of the 14th of August, 1947. The speech focused on various topics related to India and the freedom that she had achieved from the shackles of British colonial rule. The speech also encourages and inspires the countrymen to wake from the long slumber and take steps for the upliftment and development of India.
Jawaharlal Nehru's independence speech aimed at motivating the general masses at building a new India. The speech aimed at boosting the people for working harder and with real zeal and enthusiasm to make India the Numero UNO nation in the world. There were certain social evils that were dominant in the Indian society in the form of illiteracy, poverty, ignorance, poor health conditions and many more in pre-independent India. The message propagated for the eradication of these social evils and to make India a prospering nation.
The message of the first Prime Minister of independent India, Jawaharlal Nehru, also requested the people of the country to actively participate in the process of nation-building. He also urged the people to have and show confidence in the national leaders of the country, who were bestowed with the duty of carrying the nation forward. The concept of equality was also emphasized in the independence speech made by Jawaharlal Nehru.
The Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, also finds reference in the speech made by Nehru. He also pays homage to the various freedom fighters, who had sacrificed their lives for the purpose of attaining freedom from the bond of British rule. He also makes a mention of the pains that several people had to endure due to the partition of the country. The speech also motivates the common masses to undergo the initial pains and troubles in the process of making a glorious India.
Last but not the least, Jawaharlal Nehru in the speech pays homage to Mother India and takes vows to defend her in all troubles. He also summons all the countrymen to bind themselves to the services of the Motherland.Independence Day Speech

Independence Day Speech-Honorable Chief Guest of the day, distinguished guests for the occasion, teachers, parents and all my dear friends wish you very Happy Independence Day.

Independence Day Speech-As you know all of us have gathered here to celebrate 67th Independence Day of our nation. This day, after the hosting national flag, we salute and remember the heroic deeds of all freedom fighters. As a citizen of India, I feel so proud to give a speech on Independence Day and share some of my views with you all. On the night of August 14, 1947, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru rose to make a speech on Independence Day in New Delhi, when the world sleeps, India will wake to life and freedom. India became free from the British rule. Now, India is the largest democratic country in the world. The country’s strength is to find, Unity in diversity?  But, there are stray incidents that test her secularism but the people of India are ready to sacrifice anything for the cause of unity.
My dear friends, we were the privileged lot to have been born in free India. We were able to breathe the fresh free air since our birth. If at all we want to know the pangs of agony of being slaves under a foreign rule, we must ask our elders born before 1947. It was indeed a Himalayan task for every Indian those days to fight against those powerful giants the British rulers. We must not allow those hard times and struggles fade away from our memories. Hence it is befitting for us to celebrate such National festivals and recall those heroic deeds of our National heroes. We remember them today.
Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we will redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance. We end today a period of ill fortune, and India discovers herself again.
Today we remember the great leaders who gave their lives for the nation’s freedom and prosperity. Dr. B.R.Ambedkar gave the longest written constitution to us. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru worked for an Industrialized India. Gandhi ji taught us Ahimsa and Non-violence. Subhash Chandra Bose inducted courage in us. Swami Vivekanand gave us spiritual power. But it’s not good to remember the heroic deeds of only few main leaders of freedom fight because the freedom fighting was collective effort.
So people of India were the real national heroes behind the success. We should express our sincere gratitude to all those who participated in the freedom struggle.
Let us get rid of illiteracy and take India to a bright future.
Jai Hind!!! Jai Bharat..!!!!
